A Visit to Ivalde at the Gossipgirl sim

Neferia still has her store there and there are a few things little different there from the Retrology store.

Millie is a dramatic period dress, bustled and beautiful! Tailored in a heavy gabardine with accents of silk, Millie is lavish on details. The gently ruched Batu bodice, complete with textured ties, is in the same luscious silk as the the softly puffed curves and flares of the sculpted short-sleeves and the lavish swags of the sculpted bustle. The torso of the top is finished in a lushly textured gabardine, as is the full-length flex- bell shaped skirt, lending a strong sense of substance to this amazing dress!Available at Ivalde in olive, purple/marine, purple/red, and teal Millie, a dress that is perfect style with substance!

Timeless: What's Past is Present .... or My View from the Stand by Sequoia Nightfire

Ivalde blogger challenge continues... too much to be said to contain in one day. We love you Nef and will miss you during this time of respite. Our best thoughts are with you as you make some significant changes in your life and our prayers go out for a speedy recovery from that which ails you physically.

The bonds of friendship formed, though spread across thousands of miles, are an amazing testament to the focal point Ivalde and L`Abel have become to many. Nef created something really special and her designs are just a part of it. It is the attitude we all share in welcoming all into "our" store with a smile and desire to help you find that exact fabulous look.

We may be on a short hiatus from the Main store but you know who we are and where to find us, hehe. Retrology sim Ivalde store is now open for business, feel free to drop me a im if you need help.
Sequoia Nightfire

Sunset at Joy

What I love about Nef’s designs are the details not only are the seams picture perfect, but the silk or taffeta accents are layered by shadow and effect that only a rl artist could master. Neferia is one of these gifted few in Second Life who can manage a truly fabulous fresh fashion house design rather than the off the rack look. The textures have such depth and warmth and extraordinary fit as to give the wearer the feeling this was made exclusively for them. My favorite gowns are way too numerous to fathom. For the Ivalde bloggers challenge I decided to go back in time and share a few of my favorites.

Pictured above is the Gertie, the soft silk asian floral pattern catches the sunset showing off the shimmer and the silk accents at the shoulder the shadows of the approach of twilight. The prims at the bottom of the skirt flute out as petals of the flowers patterned across this bit of summer elegance.
~~Ivalde~~Augusta

Next is the Agusta, which I wore on Fabulous Fashion with Angie Mornington in a show featuring Neferia. Angie commented on how she was anxious to go buy this dress at the conclusion of the program. Nef once again asked me to wear this Depression era frock for her appearance on RL Norwegian TV. Not bad two TV appearances in less than a month she must have been doing something right! Below I (Sequoia) am joined by Beulah, Eileen, Fay, & KymSara in our appearance on Fabulous Fashion. A big day in our close-knit family Nef called us “The sweetest and best models ever in sl:) “.

Fabulous Fashion - Faces of Ivalde

Ivalde has something for everyone…We cover from Victorian/Edwardian to Present day with the new collection from L`Abel. Beulah wearing a Baroque gown, KymSara in Victorian, Sequoia in Depression Era, Fay in 1950’s, Eileen in 1970’s

~~Ivalde~~ASTA black

Finally, perhaps my favorite versatile occasion dress is the Asta. It is stunning no matter how you look at it. Timeless, elegant yet flirty and fun, this dress with the flouncy multiple layered skirts could be worn and welcome on a dance floor at a jazz club. Asta is also perfect also for a romantic moonlight stroll or sipping champagne at an art opening. Use your imagination… your partner will definitely be using theirs when they see you in it.

Ivalde Model Fay Rhode Shares Her Love of Ivalde

It all started out simple enough, my first visit to Ivalde was due to a shout out from a Lucky Chair group to help clear the famous Lucky chair at Ivalde! I got the pretty dress, and ended staying in the store, loving all the designs! Once I found Ivalde, I found it hard to leave! I adore all of Nef's designs, and have the good fortune to be chosen as one of her models!

Today I am wearing Veronika, a new dress from her L`Abel Collection. It's a romantic dress, with sculpted skirt pooling on the floor.

A special thanks to Kymsara Rayna, who helped by talking these lovely shots!

We miss you here Nef, hurry back!

Neferia's Ivalde – My Nefmin

First off, let me say how privileged I feel for having Nef as my best friend. She is funny, intelligent, humble, kind and unfailingly generous. Actually, she is one of the kindest and most loving souls I have ever met, SL or first!

Seremin

An Ivalde favorite of mine, Nef made Seremin especially for my SL wedding! I feel so honored and touched that she would take the time to make anything, not to mention something so elegant, beautiful and rich in detail. The suit was everything I wanted and more!

Seremin can be worn with or without the jacket. I especially love the seed pearls dotting the blouse. The prim cuffs have a flourish of lace and the the collar has a luxurious satin sheen. Nef even went so far as to trim the jacket hem in a metallic double stitch thread! Those finishing touches speak of the loving attention Nef gives to every one of her creations. When you wear an Ivade or L`Abel, you can be confident you are wearing the finest SL has to offer!

Serenity Knotted Pearl Necklace by Aurora Borelias

Kathrine

I bought the Kathrine sheath dress back in February 2007 as one of my first purchases in Nef's store. I remember finding Ivalde tucked away in a little village. I was beyond happy. Here was the quality I LONGED to find! One of the most pleasant things about Ivalde was after making a purchase, was to open it and put it on, only to be being thrilled to find it even more detailed and better quality than the vendor picture, a rarity in SL!
The fact I can wear Kathrine in 2009, bespeaks of the quality craftsmanship Nef puts in it all her designs. A great reminder of one of Nef's favorite quotes by Coco Chanel, "“Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”

Kathrine in red (also available in silver, sky blue and gold)
Worn with Stiletto Moody Pythons in black
Spica Long Volcanic Glass necklace
Anne in Black by Elegance Hats
Placido Earrings in ruby by Twinkleberry

I hope to do many more posts in the future featuring favorites from Nef's impressive collection! How do I pick a favorite? I guess I will have to do it one day at a time, there are so many!

Nefmin, if you happen to read this, please take care, get healthy, and know you are missed, yes you are very missed. My love to you and your family, and know that I hold you in my thoughts and prayers always.

from Beulah Mills

I know I am the luckiest girl is SL to be the Top model for Ivalde - the shock that Nef was going for the summer was enough to make me see that more than ever.

I adore her as a person, designer and most of all I adore her as my wonderful friend.
So this is my way of showing her how much she is loved.

When I started SL I found it full of strip clubs and clothes I didn't want to wear even on my AV.
I found SL a hard place to get started in with no help so it was a fight to get going.
While searching for lucky chairs I came into the old wooden Ivalde and just sat in awe - this was SO my style, some of the things I had like it in RL others I would love the chance to own in RL.
I had to have these dresses.
At the time JuJuBee Klaar had offered to model for Nef to help show of her clothes and so I offered to do the same if she would sell the things to me at a discount - I know cheeky of me but was worth a shot.
After chatting to Nef she dropped a few dresses on me and that was it - I was an Ivalde Model!

This dress has to hold the most memories for me, it was the first one I ever modeled and I was so scared I would be able to do it justice. This is even the hair I used that day and a hat so like this one to (Morrigan Hyun from Elegance hats has updated it to this)Alisa is a bright joyful dress full of summertime, the skirt moves with such grace when walking. It also comes in purple, black and green - all of which are stunning but the yellow will always be my special dress.

At this point I should really show of the Beulah gown Nef made and named after me - she caught me as a person in every inch of the detail - that's how amazing Neferia is, she puts that little bit extra into each design. A short time back I blogged the Beulah gown for a wedding picture so I thought - what else has caught my eye .

Randeline is made as a 60s dress and so easy to make it look part of the 60s era but its also very easy to dress up for cocktails or even a modern look - which is what I did in this picture.
With this dress you are ready for anything, dancing, shopping, a special date or just hanging out with the girls this dress is worth every inch of the 350L
The stunning silk bodice detail and even a zip on the back shows how much care goes into each design and the silk skirt with leg attachments so that as you walk it keeps its shape lets you dance with grace and style.

The hat is from Elegance Hats - which is still open on the old Ivalde sim and the necklace is from Aurora Borealis , again still open on the Ivalde sim - both these store make items to suit all Ivalde clothes so its always the first stop to make to find the perfect match.

To Neferia - I love and miss you. Take care of yourself and your family and I know we will chat again soon

from Kymsara Rayna

Working as a model at Ivalde has been so very much more than a job, or just a way to pass time in SL. The wonderful team of gals here have come together as family, in the truest sense of the word. I could reflect on so many of the special times we have had together. But today is all about Nef, and her creations, so let me share a few particularly treasured moments that have meant so much to me.

I became especially close to one of our models, and we were planning her wedding actually, when she suddenly succumbed to MS, a disease she had been fighting for most of her adult life. Ashwyn was a dear friend who loved life and beautiful things. She always had a smile for everyone and especially loved dancing in SL with her fiance. I was really devastated by her death. My Ivalde family was so supportive during this time, and Neferia captured Ash's wonderful spirit by designing this special dress and naming it in her honor. I know that Ash is smiling to see this lovely tribute.

A short time later Nef surprised us all with a special series of dresses and gowns, designed for and named for all the Ivalde models. I can't begin to express the excitement around the store! Each gown was so well matched to each of us and it was such a joy to wear them and share the excitement with our customers. I still can't believe it . . . a gown this lovely designed for and named after me!!

So you see, more goes into Nef's designs than just a stitch and a texture. In addition to her incredible design skills Nef has a caring and giving heart that always seems to show through in her work. There is a part of her with every design as she researches and studies to find just the right combination of inspired design and period fabric, with a strong sense of what her customers are waiting for. Ahh our customers! What a delightful group they are! They look forward to all the new releases, and love to stop and chat about them, and tell us all about the special occasions when they wear them. They bring their friends, and introduce them to us so that we can assist them in finding that unique dress they are looking for. No, modelling at Ivalde is definitely not just a job! The relationships that we have developed among the team and with our customers have made it a true blessing to be a part of all Ivalde is. I hope that our down time is brief and that we can pick up where we left off very soon. ks

Ivalde is closing!

Ivalde is closing!

And the reasons are many :

-First of all
My dear husband Brumm began a new real life job some weeks ago.
As it is now, he drives 5 hours everyday and uses 1.111 USD every month in driving expenses and ferry. It costs too much in time and money, so we decided to sell our house and move. (To sell a house right now is not easy!)
We are moving this weekend, and the new house doesn't have an internet connection....yet!
We don't know how long time this will take. And we may not be able to get same type of connection as our new neighbors cause of location. Brumm is working on a solution for us !

-I have been ill since Easter, started out as a tonsil infection and ended up as a reactive arthritis. I am feeling better, I don't have pain all the time as in the start, but I get worse every night and when I sit in the car or sit on a chair, so Photoshop work is hard to do right now! And I am tired all the time. The doctor told me 95% gets healed in 6 months, and I am in my second month now.
This illness does alot to my mind and mood.I am use to being a very active woman, and to be like this now is not easy. I have been feeling like I am at least 40 years older than I am. And I got a preview on how it will be to get old and not have a good health!
I feel like I am in the basement having trouble to get up! I miss the old myself!

-Kids have soon summer vacation and will be home all days with me, and later Brumm too, when he gets his vacation. They needs my attention 100%.

-Before I discovered Second life, I was working with a project.
Its been a little dream I had and promised myself I would finished, but after I found SL I had a loooong break from it.
I have been working 8-10 hours in Photoshop/SL each day (when kids are at school and after the kids bedtime)except Saturdays and Sundays. Those days been less and I tried to work in Photoshop/Sl after the kids went to bed. Its been alot of work, but I really love to design and I have been so hooked on it ! BUT all my other projects been put to side.
Now I decided it's time for me to finish the illustrations of this children's book, my dream project!

- We all know how it during the summer in SL, and I don't want to worry about summer slumps and lower sales this summer.

-I want the Ivalde models, the best girls in SL to have a vacation too, they deserve it.
I love them all so much:)

Maybe I will be back in 1 month or 2 or 3, it all depends on internet connections, health, and other projects I plan to finish!
My dear Brumm doesn't want me to close, he may convince me to open up again later.
Right now I feel its the best to close because I have too much on my mind!

Ivalde &-L`Abel- are still sold at XStreet but mainstore and rentals are closed!

Thanks to all who supported me
Lots of Love from Nef
